| DT TRAINER EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE - www.dttrainer.com This software utilizes principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and a familiar teaching method called discreet trial instruction, combined with the power of multi-media and computer technology to teach developmentally delayed students of all levels. Getting an autistic student to respond to any teaching situation can be very challenging, but the research is solid and the results are impressive. My autistic son is really responding to this technology and I highly recommend it to any parent or school program. They have a trial version and assement tools. PYRAMID EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANTS - www.pecs.com TThe Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) program is an essential addition to the program of an autistic child or adult. It helps reduce adverse behavior by teaching the person to initiate communication and get their needs and wants attended to, and later teaches discrimination and more complex language skills and concepts. I highly recommend this communication program created by Lori Frost, MS, CCC/SLP and Andy Bondi, Ph.D., along with the Pyramid Approach to Behavioral Teaching taught by Dr. Bondi. My son's ability to communicate is owed entirely to PECS.
